Stawell Gold Mines - Resource Review & Mentoring

Entech Geology recently partnered with Stawell Gold Mines to provide both technical review and skills development for their Resource Geology team.
Senior Geologist Tim Holmes conducted a peer review of the site’s resource model, including an on-site audit and workflow assessment. The review provided practical, actionable feedback to strengthen Mineral Resource Estimate approaches and ensure robust modelling practices.
To complement the review, Tim also delivered a two-day advanced estimation mentoring session for David Bilton, covering:

Metal accumulation and true width estimation
Categorical Indicator Kriging (CIK)
Multiple Indicator Kriging (MIK)

This combination of technical auditing and tailored training not only sharpened the current model but also enhanced the team’s capability for future work.
Importantly, ongoing access to Entech’s private support group ensures Stawell’s team can continue to draw on expertise as needed.
A big thank you to Stawell Gold Mines for their collaboration and hospitality on-site — we value the opportunity to support geology teams that invest in both technical excellence and professional growth.
