Entech is a multi-disciplinary mining consulting firm providing practical both technical and business solutions to the mining industry.

With offices strategically located in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK, we offer a global reach to mining companies and mineral projects around the world.

Entech specializes in the core mining disciplines of Mining Engineering, Resource Geology and Geotechnical Engineering. Core to our DNA is efficiency and optimisation. Entech is working with a number of global resource companies on decarbonization strategies utilizing its in-house expertise in carbon accounting, fleet electrification and process optimization.

Shane & Jill

Our Story.

Founded in April 2010 by Shane McLeay, Entech offered Mining Engineering Consulting services to several Western Australian junior miners and explorers including Northern Star Resources and Sandfire Resources. These early successes enabled Entech to grow and in 2013, Entech opened an office in Vancouver, managed by Jason Allen and expanded its services into Resource Geology, managed by Jill Irvin.

In 2015, Entech took on Tom Parrott to manage the newly formed Geotechnical service offering and in 2018, Patrick McCann was employed to open an office in Toronto, which has grown to become the second largest Entech office worldwide. Smaller offices are located in Tauranga New Zealand, Chippenham UK and Melbourne Australia. In 2022, Entech formed a decarbonization team that assists mining companies plan and transition towards net zero. Today Entech employs about 40-45 professionals across the globe. Shane McLeay

Shane is a Mining Engineer possessing over 20 years of industry experience with a strong history of start-up and project management of numerous mines throughout Australia from planning and early works stages. Shane also gained extensive experience in senior operational site management, predominantly in gold and base metal hard rock mines, prior to founding Entech in 2010.

He has since been involved in a diverse range of projects, both national and international, over a broad range of commodities, providing services including mining due diligence assessments, mining scoping studies, mining pre-feasibility and definitive feasibility studies.

Dan Donald

Dan is a Mining Engineer with over 20 years of extensive industry experience and proven capability in management of site operations, business management and technical service provision in Australian hard rock mining.

Dan can leverage post-graduate qualifications and professional status to contribute evidence-based decision-making discipline with an eye on the bottom line. Dan has extensive experience in mining project analysis, mining financial modelling, mining feasibility study management and mining peer reviews.

Jill-Irvin

Jill Irvin

BSc Geology Post Grad Cert Geostatistics MAIG AWASM

Jill is an experienced Geological Consultant with 20 years’ experience in the mining industry and a strong background in resource estimation, near-mine exploration and mining geology. Jill gained solid operational experience with ten years’ site work in production, project and management roles.

This was followed by a decade specialising in resource evaluation and resource due diligence for precious and base metal deposits in Australasia and Africa. Jill holds postgraduate qualifications in geostatistics and served as a Federal Councillor for the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG) from 2008 until 2012.

Tom is a Geotechnical Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in both open pit and underground hard rock mines.

Tom has worked in many challenging mines in both Canada and Australia and has extensive experience in generating practical and effective operational rock mechanics solutions, team management and feasibility study geotechnical analysis and estimation.

Jason Allen

Jason is a Mining Engineer possessing over 18 years of industry experience in Australia and Canada in operational roles, site technical management and mining consulting.

He has been involved in several projects in Australasia, Canada and Latin America including preliminary economic assessments, mining feasibility studies and technical reviews. Jason joined Entech in 2012 and has managed Entech Canada since inception in 2013.

Patrick McCann

Patrick is a Mining Engineer possessing over 18 years of industry experience in North America and Asia in operational and technical management and corporate technical support roles. Patrick has worked in projects from small underground gold through to large underground base metal and open pit mines. He has experience in mine start-up and construction, operation and continuous improvements and due diligence for M&A for both buying and selling operations.

Patrick joined Entech in 2018 and has managed Entech Toronto since its inception.

Craig Bradley

Craig has a unique blend of software and mining engineering experience with listed technology companies, mining companies and small consultancy firms. In addition, he has worked at a wide range of underground and open pit mines in Australia and overseas. As a result, Craig has good knowledge and understanding of underground and open pit mine scheduling, planning and design.

Furthermore, Craig has recently applied a new way of evaluating risk in a mining operation using simulation techniques, which gained him an HD for his Master’s thesis.
